CONISTON HOUSE - a new 25,000 sq. ft. office building to be built in 2008
Rocket Launched from Westlakes (React Engineering) - Friday, 6th July 2007
December 2007 - Pensioners Christmas Party - 100 Pensioners enjoyed festive entertainment from the schoolchildren of Moor Row Primary School. The singing was followed by refreshments in the restaurant.
July 2006 - Kelton House complete. Main contractor Border Construction Limited handed over the keys for the new 23,200 sq. ft. office building to Westlakes Properties Limited on 31st July.
July 2006 - Alistair Darling Visit Trade & Industry Secretary Alistair Darling visits Westlakes and officially opened the NDA HQ building, Herdus House, on 14th July
February 2006 - Robinson House opens. Main contractor Thomas Armstrong completed the construction of the new building on Plateau 2.
January 2006 - NDA Team move into new Headquarters building (Herdus House).
January 2006 - BNFL Finance and Purchasing Departments relocate into their new building Banna Court.
December 2005 - NDA announces sponsorship of a £20million Nuclear Institute to be jointly sponsored by Manchester University sited at Westlakes Science Park.
July 2005 - Park Infrastructure Work Complete The latest phase of engineering work to develop Westlakes' infrastructure has been successfully completed by main contractor Thomas Armstrong .
June 2005 - Galemire Court, New Building Takes Shape Work is progressing well on the latest building to be constructed on the Westlakes Science & Technology Park near Whitehaven
May 2005 - Kelton House On 9th May 2005 construction work started on Kelton House. Situated on Plateau 2, the new 23,000 sq. ft. building will provide 10 office suits ranging from 950 to 4,200 sq. ft.
April 2005 - Robinson House The Montpellier Group Property Division is proceeding with the construction of a 16,200 sq. ft. building at Westlakes Science & Technology Park.
December 2004 - Party Time at Westlakes On Friday, 10 December 2004 around 85 elderly residents from the Whitehaven area were treated to a Christmas Party at the Westlakes Science & Technology Park . This has now become a regular event for the festive season with pensioners travelling from the surrounding area by courtesy of Whitehaven Lions.
November 2004 - Nuclear Decommissioning Authority(NDA) HQ at Westlakes
On 1st November 2004, the Secretary of State for Trade & Industry, the Rt. Hon. Patricia Hewitt announced that the NDA will site its national headquarters at Westlakes.
February 2004 - New Office Building for Westlakes Science & Technology Park Work on the latest building at Westlakes - the two-storey Galemire Court commenced on 23 rd February 2004 .
November 2003 - Raising the Awareness of Science & Technology in Primary Schools West Cumbrian Primary School teachers visited the Westlakes Science & Technology Park on Wednesday, 19 th November 2003 . Their aim was to explore how Westlakes could work with teachers to help raise the awareness of pupils to the importance of Science and Technology in daily life.
August 2003 - 21 st Century Highway Connection at Westlakes Westlakes Properties is pleased to announce that it has agreed a four year contract with Net North West for the supply of Broadband Internet connectivity to the Westlakes Science & Technology Park This will ensure that the Park and its tenants can compete effectively in the global marketplace with state of the art telecommunication services.
June 2002 - Phase 2 Expansion and Continued Growth Westlakes Properties Limited (WPL) is pleased to announce that it has placed a major contract with local firm, Thomas Armstrong for the construction work associated with the second phase of its expansion.
