Known as the Geoffrey Schofield Laboratories, this modern, purpose-built 3,300 m2 facility, located in the Westlakes Science & Technology Park, offers a wide range of leading edge analytical techniques that can be applied to a multitude of environmental, biological and effluent sample types, using state of the art instrumentation.
Analytical data produced by BIL Solutions supports statutory environmental assessment, remediation and dose assessment programmes operating within major nuclear sites as well as providing specific service measurements to industrial companies, government organisations and local authorities.
With its close proximity to Sellafield, Europe's largest licensed nuclear site, BIL Solutions offers a unique understanding of the regulatory issues relating to the protection of personnel and the environment.
BIL analytical services are available on a stand-alone basis to support existing programmes or they can be integrated with additional related BIL services to provide in-depth support to nuclear operators, including:

Environmental analysis on a wide variety of environmental matrices - liquids (water, milk, trade effluents, oils), solids (filter papers, grass, vegetation, soils, silts, sediments, food products, sea weed etc), aerial effluences, body fluids and tissues, fish and shellfish.
